It’s Carers Week between 10-16 June 2024, an annual awareness campaign which aims to increase visibility for carers in the UK.
This year the theme is ‘Putting Carers on the Map’, highlighting the contributions that carers across the UK make, and ensuring their voices are heard.
You can find out more about the campaign on the carers week website.
Available support for carers in the UK
Balancing paid work with caring can be challenging. If you find yourself in this situation, or you know someone who is, there’s lots of information on the carers week website which is aimed at carers and the support available to them.
It may also be worth considering a carers allowance if you spend at least 35 hours a week caring for someone with an illness or disability. To find out more about the allowance and eligibility, please visit the Carers UK website.
For additional information on the different benefits and financial support available for carers, you can visit the GOV website.
