ETHOS

Our Income Team Manager and Tenancy Sustainment Officer recently caught up with Alex, the new ETHOS Advisor for Epsom.Alex is here to help individuals (19+) in Epsom and Ewell to find jobs by providing assistance with CV writing, interview methods, developing digital skills and finding appropriate courses.

Here is how ETHOS helped one of our residents. We have changed his name, to protect his identity and privacy.

Rosebery first recommended John to ETHOS. He was hesitant to begin with but he decided to get in touch and arranged to meet up.

John was unable to work, for health reasons, and was uncertain about his future career prospects. ETHOS support is focused on exploring and understanding people’s concerns,  looking at their personal employment history and building confidence in the ETHOS support offering.

Given this new impetus, John felt more motivated to work and, with help from ETHOS, he began updating and polishing his CV and, at the same time, researching local employment opportunities. John was delighted when he managed to secure an interview with a local organisation that is well known to ETHOS, John and his ETHOS advisor practised a range of interview techniques and other important tips in preparation for his interview. He really wanted this job and he was determined to give himself the best chance of landing it.

John attended his interview and was invited back for a second, which was music to his ears. After successfully concluding his second interview, he was delighted when they called him to offer him the job. He has since started in his new role and has begun the training and induction procedure. With help and support from ETHOS, finding this new job has enabled him to step back into working life, it’s given him a new sense of purpose and he is hopeful that this role will soon become permanent.

If you are looking for employment and would like some professional advice and support, the team at ETHOS is here to help! Call 07951 461 585 to schedule an appointment.
