We referred a client to the Epsom Citizens Advice Money Advice Project (which is funded by Rosebery Housing) for help to repay their rent arrears.
Citizens Advice learnt that the client wanted to move from their first floor flat to a ground floor flat to gain more support. The client was a vulnerable individual with multiple health issues, suffering from social isolation and perceived undiagnosed learning needs.
Citizens Advice worked extensively with the client across several issues including benefits, budgeting, debts and their liability for debts – including a successful complaint to the Energy Ombudsman on their behalf.
With their support, the client repaid their rent arrears. Citizens Advice liaised with the client’s GP and the relevant teams at Rosebery Housing, and helped to complete medical questionnaires.
As a result, the client has now been moved to a ground floor flat where the option for further support is available. The client is very pleased with this outcome and their finances are now in a much better state.
