Mutual Exchanges

Following changes to government guidelines, we are allowing Mutual Exchange applications from Monday 6 July 2020.

Please be aware, you can only apply to mutually exchange in to a property that is suitable for your needs and room allocation, according to our allocations policy (link to policy below). This means that you will not be able to move into a property that has more bedrooms than would be normally allocated, i.e., if you need a two bedroom property, you will be unable to move into a three bedroom home and use the spare room for storage.

We advise that you get in touch with your Neighbourhood Officer before applying for Mutual Exchange. You can discuss your options and our guidelines with the process. For example, these are a few of our limitations –

        • Same sex children can share a room until 16 years old.
        • Different sex children can share a room until 10 years old.
        • You need to have a clear rent account before applying.

We may experience a high level of applications over the coming weeks. Please bear with us, we have 42 days since receipt of the application until a final decision is made.

If you have any questions or would like to apply, please message your Neighbourhood Officer or our Customer Experience Team through your My Rosebery account.
