Employing people who will be as committed to you as we are is important if we want to continue to provide the best service possible. So how do we make sure you are happy with the type of people we hire? By putting a Rosebery resident on the panel to interview all potential staff members – whose feedback is as valuable as anyone else’s on the panel. 

In February this year, we trained six residents to be part of our interview panel. Organised by Caroline Jones of HRT Consultants, the training kicked off with a quiz about current employment legislation. The course went on to show residents how to shortlist candidates’ CVs by looking at competencies and what to look for during the interview process. Mock interviews were staged using Rosebery staff as shortlisted candidates. 

Tarren Harding was one of the six residents who took part in the training. 

Tarren said: “In my opinion, there are certain roles within Rosebery that residents should have an influence over who is hired. We are indirectly an employer of staff, so it means a lot that we can sit on the interview panels – and that our views are counted. The training has been very useful and it has given us the chance to meet other residents and feel part of a team.”
