Housing Services

How to Apply for a Home

Non Rosebery Residents

We don't accept direct applications for housing in general needs properties. If you are interested in becoming a Rosebery resident, you should apply to your local borough council. You can contact them directly or download an application form.

Here are contact details for local councils:

Choice Based Lettings

Once you are on the waiting list, you'll receive a reference number which means you can then bid for properties through the choice based lettings system. By regularly visiting the website, you'll see all the homes that we have available and you can apply or bid for any that you are matched to. The person with the highest points will be successful for the home they've bid for. Available properties are advertised from midnight Thursday through to midnight the following Wednesday. You can place up to three bids each week. They are advertised in these ways:

• On the website
• In a newsletter available from the council
• On display in the Reception area at the Town Hall
• On the property information line

Rosebery Residents

Transfer

If you're a Rosebery resident and you want to move to another Rosebery home, you can apply to go on our transfer waiting list. You also need to complete an application with your local council to go on the Housing Needs Register. Applications are always prioritised by need.

If you'd like to fill out a transfer application form, please contact the Customer Services Team on 01372 814000 or 0800 068 7664, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Mutual Exchange

A Mutual Exchange means that you can swap homes with any Housing Association or Council tenant. The best way to find someone to swap with is by registering on www.homeswapper.co.uk. It's a free service for Rosebery residents and it will put you in contact with thousands of people who might be able to swap. Once you've found another tenant to swap with, you'll need to fill out a mutual exchange application form. If you'd like an application form, please contact the Customer Services Team.

Before you move out, your Neighbourhood Officer will visit your home to give advice on what standard we expect your home to be in when you leave it. Please click here to download our 'Moving Home' leaflet which will give you more information on what to do when you move home.
