Keeping our residents and their homes safe is a top priority, especially when it comes to fire safety.
Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and in this article, you can see the measures we take as well as what you can do to keep yourself and your home safe.
What we do to keep you safe
- We deliver regular Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) (in the properties we manage) and make sure actions raised are resolved by a given deadline.
- We follow relevant government guidelines. This includes the Fire Safety Act 2021.
- Where relevant, a fire risk assessment is conducted before starting works on site.
- We install and maintain fire or smoke alarms in the properties we rent. If you own your property, this is your responsibility.
- We will give notice to remove any items stored in communal areas or cupboards. If the items are flammable, we will remove them immediately.

Keeping communal areas clear
It is essential that all communal areas, including corridors, walkways and stairwells are kept completely clear of all items and belongings at all times.
Here are the main reasons why this is important:
- It increases the risk of fires.
- Obstructions could slow down emergency services- meaning the fire could become out of control because it’s taken fire services longer to gain access.
- It could slow you and your neighbours down from getting to safety.
If you find any items or rubbish, please contact us.
If we find anything placed in the communal areas, a notice to remove these items will be given. The notice will give you a good amount of time to find appropriate storage for your items, however any flammable items will be removed immediately with no notice served. If items are not removed after the notice has expired, we will dispose of them. The cost of removal is charged to the resident if we know or can prove the owner of the items, otherwise the cost is placed on the block.
