Rosebery Housing Association is delighted to have been judged to be providing ‘Good’ two star services with ‘Promising Prospects’ for improvement following an independent inspection by the Audit Commission carried out in January 2007.

The Audit Commission is an independent public body that ensures public money is spent efficiently in the areas of local government, housing, health, criminal justice and fire & rescue services.

The Commission’s inspection team spent a week on-site at Rosebery’s Office in Epsom in January reviewing the housing management services provided.  As well as spending time in the offices the inspectors met with customers, partners and visited estates and residents in their homes.

The Audit Commission looked at the following individual service areas:

• Access & Customer Care
• Diversity
• Repairs & Maintenance
• Income Management
• Tenancy & Estate Management
• Value for Money

Although the inspection did not focus on Resident Involvement there are positive references to this area throughout the inspection report.  In particular the Inspectors noted that the Association’s ‘Opportunity Store’, which was launched during the week of inspection, sets out the commitment to resident and community involvement in all aspects of the associations business, including a large menu of involvement opportunity.
